Building Maintenance Engineer

Location:          Amesbury
 
Hours:              Average 39 hours a week, 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 12 hour
                         shifts 6am – 6pm
 
Salary:              £38,850 per annum

The role

Building Maintenance Engineers help maintain their automated warehouses. As an Engineer you are responsible for the continuous running of building facilities and maintaining equipment to a high standard, in turn reducing production downtime.

Main Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Maintain automated doors and dock levellers to reduce downtime
  • Preventative maintenance - organised between production requirements
  • Repair roll cages
  • Welding
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical/mechanical tasks
  • General maintenance duties
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of management
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance to good practice, relevant legislation and Company standards
Knowledge and Experience
  • A mix of the electrical and mechanical skills
  • Previous knowledge and experience of building services and facilities engineering
  • Qualified in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Working at heights is essential
  • An understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics is preferable
  • Welding experience preferable although full training is provided
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship desirable
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solving and fault diagnosis skills
  • Ability to plan and organise work schedules between production requirements
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative is imperative
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawing
  • Awareness of Working Environment
  • Comply with all written and verbal instructions given to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
  • Use all safety and protective equipment as provided
