Building Regulation Technician required by a large public body based in Carrickfergus

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, to recruit a Building Regulations Technician on a temporary contract basis for a period of 6 months with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
You will work as part of the Building Control Section to fulfil the Council's statutory duties regarding the administration and enforcement of Building Regulations and allied legislation in relation to:
Postal addresses and development naming
Building notice, domestic regularisation and property certificate applications
Vacant property inspections
Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) legislation.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
A third level qualification in a building/construction related discipline with one year's experience in a building/construction related environment, to include:
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively;
Proven ability to interpret working drawing and specifications; and
Effectively working with stakeholders to ensure delivery of service targets.
Alternatively, consideration may be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualifications but can demonstrate that they have three years' experience of the areas outlined above.
Additionally, you should have:
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle.
