We are seeking a talented Senior Building Services Design Engineer - Mechanical to join our close-knit team and embark on a journey of innovation and growth.
The ideal person will be required to carry out survey's and site inspections of the mechanical and public health services with the ability to produce design solutions.
This position is offering a chance for progression into an Associate Director Designate role for the right person.
Key Responsibilities as Building Services Design Engineer:
- Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements
- Carrying out site surveys to determine requirements and to assist with pricing for installation works with varying degrees of design requirements
- Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems
- Documenting the design process
- Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets
- Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence
- Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals
- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices
- Present proposals to clients and external project team members
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/relevant degree
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical Design Engineer
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Attentive to detail and critically minded
- The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends
Skills and Qualifications:
- Chartered engineer status
- Exceptional problem-solving and math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in using common design software, such as AutoCAD etc.
- Project management and leadership skills
- Product-focused creative thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organization and effective time management
- In-depth knowledge of industry design principles
