The Opportunity:

As a result of our continuing success and growth within the sustainable energy market we are welcoming applications for our Technical Apprenticeship Programme.

On our Technical Apprenticeship Programme during Years 1 and 2 you will study a Level 3 Building Services Design Technician qualification which will be delivered at our Training Academy within our Head Office based in Blackburn. Depending on your location this may require residential attendance which will be funded by us. We have some great facilities at our Head Office including an on-site gym with dedicated Personal Trainer!

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in all departments within our business with site based placements on our projects across the UK whilst learning and working alongside a team of experienced designers, project managers, engineers and commercial managers. From Heat Networks, Energy Centres, Water Source Heat Pumps to Heat Interface Units and Metering & Billing Solutions you will help us to shape the future of energy provision.

Upon successful completion of your Level 3 qualification its onwards and upwards as you progress towards your degree qualification in your chosen specialism with the full support of the Vital Team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Project Manager/Department Leader you will:

• Develop knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems within a building
• Use project management systems during the construction process in order to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget
• Work alongside the commercial team to understand contractual agreements, review the financial performance of a project and support the procurement process
• Understand H&S requirements and how to comply with safe working practices
• Manage day to day activities on site which are relevant to your skills, training and experience
• Assist testing and commissioning activities on site
• Produce technical reports using engineering terminology
• Develop your communication skills by delivering Health & Safety tool box talks, liasing with sub-contractors and producing project reports

• Have 5 GCSE’s at Grades A*- C[AW2] including Maths (Grade B) English and Science or their equivalent
