Job description

We are recruiting for a part time Bursary Officer for Thursdays and Fridays. The successful candidate will work within the Student Services Team to provide a responsive, effective service to students of the College in relation to personal, financial and practical advice.  They will also provide support to students by managing the administration of Student Support Funds, with the aim of minimising the impact of vulnerability and socio-economic disadvantage on outcomes. We are looking for someone with the experience of working with young people and adults in an educational setting. Excellent communications skills and experience of providing exemplary customer service to both, internal and external customers, are the key to this role.  The work involves providing financial advice therefore the some understanding of financial systems as well as experience of working with excel spreadsheets is also essential. Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group and is one of London’s most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old’s and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and due to develop a brand-new technology-focussed STEM Centre for 2024.  This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links – it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
