Our client, who are a Logistics company that provide time critical and freight forwarding services are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Portsmouth.
As Business Development Manager, you would be tasked to gain new business and target new trade lanes within client selection.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline in accordance with company guidelines
- Target and qualify a list of potential clients in the road freight import & export sectors
- Gain new business and target new trade lanes within client selection
- Arrange face-to-face client sales visits and close business
- Generate sales leads and act on them
- Establish strong relationships to customers as well as colleagues
- Engage with the road freight management team to facilitate identification of opportunities and review target management plan continuously
- Drive business development reviews and to ensure that CRM is updated to the highest standards
- Monthly review of performance and action plan setting (where needed)
Key requirements:
- Proven sales experience in Logistics / Freight Forwarding
- Excellent knowledge of the road freight market
- Ability to identify market leads and convert them into business opportunities
- Flexible and proactive approach
- Excellent stakeholder influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to critically analyze information, present to the relevant stakeholders and provide recommendations
- Strong drive for results
- High degree of independence
- Commercial acumen
- Driving license (travel will be required)
