Job description

This is an incredible opportunity to work for a dynamic, unique and growing organisation who are leaders in their field. Vistair makes flying simpler, safer and more sustainable by connecting people with information. They work with leading airlines, air forces and aviation organisations globally to help them be safer and save money. They have ambitious plans for expansion, and to support this, are looking for an apprentice to support the maintenance of data and software systems.
Responsibilities
Aircraft are hugely complex machines and airlines are hugely complex organisations. To operate efficiently and safely involves distributing exactly the right content to thousands of people all around the world (about anything: from repairing an engine to cultural sensitivity while travelling the world).
Luckily, aviation is finally moving on from hauling reams of paper around in heavy bags. Aircraft operators see their content as datasets: and you will be helping to support that data and the technology to distribute around the world.
You will learn:
Maintaining data for clients
Managing and editing documents
Entering data on software systems
Checking data is up to date
Supporting the team with administrative tasks
Working as part of a team to meet client requests
Delivering a high-quality service to clients and partners
Progressing to more complex data management as you become more confident
Business Administrator Training
During this advanced apprenticeship, you will learn a vast range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, covering topics such as project management, systems & processes, business structures and so much more.
You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships Business Administrator Level 3 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021.
The programme is designed to mould you into a high-level, all-rounded business professional. You will learn in detail about business communication, organisation, managing change, problem-solving & much more.
These modules are designed to jump-start your career and make you stand out in an increasingly competitive field, boosting your future earning potential.
Progression
Vistair are a very supportive employer. They put a lot of time and effort into training, personal development and professional development. Career progression is hugely important, and they want to give everyone great opportunities and many of their team's career paths have evolved through their years at the company.
Culture & Benefits
Vistair are an enthusiastic team, with a great mix of experiences and an energy to achieve the best for their aviation partners, for their technology and for their people. They're also down to earth: they speak normally, they listen, and they help each other.
One of their guiding principles is to always do the right thing. They give their people the opportunity and space to learn new things and to be involved in things they want to do. They also expect them to do the right thing and to work as a team to step up to challenges.
You can expect a really supportive environment with a great mental health team; and a social committee who organise events from gaming nights to bowling, football and cricket.
They are always adding to the benefits they can offer, so here is the package today, but it will probably improve over time.
Work/Life balance:
27 days' holiday per year, rising incrementally to 30 days (plus bank holidays)
The ability to buy or sell up to 3 days' more holiday.
Hybrid working after 6 months: teams jointly decide what works best for you and the team, but they do expect you to attend the office when the team expects it and ask you to be within travelling distance.
Working environment:
Free breakfast pastries in the office once a week
Regular pizzas for the whole team to celebrate team achievements and big days (sometimes they even have a taco van!)
Free coffee and tea
A good office environment: aviation-themed, with areas for collaborative or quiet working, dining and coffee areas and meeting rooms.
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Salary: £5.28-£10.18 per hour
Benefits:
Company pension
Schedule:
Monday to Friday

GCSE or equivalent (required)
