Job description

We are looking for a flexible and dynamic colleague to come and join the Business Analysis and Systems’ Team as our Coordinator. You will join the team at a super exciting time as it plays a crucial role in shaping the delivery of Historic England’s Digital Strategy vision, which is to improve access to our expertise and the information that we hold, providing tools to help everyone make a positive difference to the historic environment.

As the team aspires to be confident and high achieving, with experts who are empowered to drive forward process and Systems development, you will have the opportunity to learn about and have training in Business Analysis and Systems development and programme and project management.

This is a 12 month fixed-term contract

The location of this role is flexible - it can be based from one of the following National offices, with hybrid working where you work from the office and at home;

Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth or Cambridge.

Salary is dependent on location as follows;

Greater London (Cambridge) £24,896 per annum

National £23,277 per annum

What you will be doing

As our Business Analysis and System Coordinator, you will work closely with the Business Analysis and Systems Manager to support the effective management of the team’s programme of work by maintaining up to date programme documentation. You will work closely with team members to coordinate and facilitate elements of the Business Analysis process, enabling effective and efficient elicitation, analysis, validation and documentation of business requirements and users’ needs. And support the team’s objectives by helping in the development, testing and implementation phases of systems improvements where appropriate.

We need you to provide first line support to relevant operational support systems (e.g. ConcaseGIS and HAM) and their users with technical/system issues, through the delivery of an effective Helpdesk. For example, by monitoring, coordinating and processing incoming requests to the Team, either dealing with them directly or escalating to other team members and/or raising with IMT where appropriate.

And you will be responsible for coordinating the community of operational support systems super users (for example, through steering groups, user group meetings or other appropriate means) to facilitate active engagement to help deliver good practice and consistent use of casework systems and to allow them to contribute to requirements gathering for forthcoming Digital Strategy projects.

 What we are looking for

  • Substantial experience of administrative work in an office environment, including excellent IT skills with knowledge of Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams, Word and Excel

  • Experience of working with varied software applications and database/system development

  • Excellent organisational skills, including excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to assimilate data, understand complex business processes, analyse procedures and recommend/implement practical solutions

  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise, switch between pieces of work and deliver to deadlines

  • Committed to good customer service and team working across a dispersed team, user and stakeholder community

  • Experience of supporting Projects and Programmes including the creation and management of documentation and other administrative tasks.
