SalaryAnderson Knight has a new opportunity for a Business Analyst, our client is a leading Engineering business who is looking to appoint a Business Analyst to partner both the manufacturing process and Finance.
The role is to develop, interpret and present analysis in support of all commercial negotiations and new Business Development proposals. To provide support to the Pricing & Estimating Team. The role will provide rotation opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of the wider finance team on both management accounting and financial accounting processes and principles, and exposure to the commercial contracts department and the interaction between Pricing & Estimating activity.
About the Role
• Compile estimates using parametric or historical data with reasoned assumptions where minimum engineering data is available.
• Compile estimates using empirical or comparative data with reasoned assumptions where historical data is available.
• Present estimates, clearly highlighting any assumptions, to others that may not be familiar with the data and issues so that they are readily understood.
• Analyse actual performance against estimated performance to benchmark the estimate standards and assumptions.
• Provide an estimating service to the Projects and Functions for engineering change and cost reduction opportunities.
• To provide support to Business Functions on all matters having a potential budgetary impact to the business.
• To ensure the overall integrity of financial reporting information for business performance.
• To assist with the financial accounting month-end closure process.
• To raise issues of concern/significant importance to Senior Finance staff in order to seek guidance/advice.
• To support decision making processes and to challenge performance of contacts where necessary by analysing key issues and trends, risks, and opportunities.
• To gain an understanding of the commercial impacts of business decisions on our contracts with our customers and suppliers.
About the Candidate
• ONC, HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering
• Systematic and uniform approach to complete tasks in timely manner
• Developed commercial and financial awareness.
• Ability to communicate written and orally both internally within the business and externally with customers.
• Capable of handling large volumes of data and consolidating and reporting this data effectively through the utilisation of strong IT skills
