Dyer & Butler are currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst (Technical) to join our Digital Team to work in a hybrid capacity, with travel to our various offices. 
 
The Digital Team provides high-quality, strategically important digital solutions to all business units in M Group Services’ Rail & Aviation Division, leveraging efficiency and expertise from a centrally managed approach.
A key strategic objective for 2024 is to implement a workflow management solution, initially for our CP7 Contracts for Network Rail, then creating the foundation of our strategic work management solution across the wider division. Our Business Analyst (Technical) will play a vital role in the design, development and delivery of our strategic pipeline.
The role is both technical and process focused. You will work closely with colleagues in the Digital Team, operations, and commercial functions to support existing work and deliver initiatives based upon data, processes, IT infrastructure and systems. You will bring technical knowledge and business acumen to support our improvement agenda across the division to deliver safe and profitable company performance through continuous improvement and exceptional levels of customer service.
About the role:
  • Work across the digital team on a variety of system and process improvement projects.
  • Oversee and project manage progress, testing, training, change control and the release of system developments.
  • Support the IT team with hardware and IT infrastructure workstreams, bringing technical know-how and a willingness to learn.
  • Analyse process flows, data requirements, rules and constraints.
  • Create clear requirements specifications, process models and other project documentation.
  • Liaise with the project team, including project management, system developers and testers to successfully deliver the project on time and within budget.
  • Design practical and cost-effective solutions to address business challenges.
  • Provide regular updates to the project team and key stakeholders to keep them apprised of progress and highlight any potential issues early.
  • Organise and support user testing, ensuring the delivered solution meets business needs.
  • Support trainers with the roll-out and provide end-user support of the systems. Championing the digital solutions implemented within Rail & Aviation.
  • Be a visible and easily accessible point of contact to promote and evangelise process and system solutions and share them across the business.
  • Provide business support to assist in commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security policies by managing access to data via users’ system access profiles.
  • Work closely with local operational and commercial teams to establish and maintain the optimum software licencing models.
  • End-to-end involvement with the planning, development, delivery and end-user support of our Power Platform efficiency projects.
  • Provide end-users with support on our key existing systems, constantly appraising our current estate and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.

 
About you:
  • Excellent relationship-building skills; able to build confidence and respect with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and manage multiple initiatives and tasks with different deadlines.
  • Highly numerate and literate, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A self-motivated and highly professional team player with a flexible, yet structured approach, also able to work on own initiative.
  • A pro-active self-starter with a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • A clear and concise communicator, who is able to take responsibility for their own work.
  • Good awareness of current technologies and IT methodologies.
  • Good skills in MS Office applications, including Office 365 and Visio.
  • Ability to produce of high-quality documentation, which is precise and concise in content.
Background, Experience & Qualifications
  • Technical background within an IT-related discipline, such as IT Infrastructure, Data, Digital Transformation, Hardware & Support.
  • Project management experience and process improvement experience would be desirable.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform or SharePoint would be desirable.
  • Degree level qualification desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
