Business Data Analyst- Edinburgh

Head recruitment is working closely with our Edinburgh based client who are going through a significant period of Digital transformation and we are working to find the perfect candidate to help to understand and analyse Data Management, cleansing, governance, de-duplication and migration into the cloud on SharePoint

We’re looking to talk with a dynamic individual to play a key role in this transition to the cloud. As the Data specialist, you'll be the architect of change, leading the charge from on premise file shares to the cutting-edge world of Office 365. This role will be a high-profile role within the business so the ability to be on site in Edinburgh and West Calder is essential especially in the initial phases of the project where the information elicitation is crucial.

?Required experience

• Proven, commercial SharePoint administration and migration with a deep, commercial understanding of architectural components online.
• Proven commercial experience of data management, governance, and quality.
• Ability to navigate data migration tools and technologies with finesse.
• Commercial evidence of Microsoft 365 solutions and applications within similar business settings
• Demonstrable knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and the art of Records Management.
• Bonus points for your flair with Power Apps and Power BI!

? Main Responsibilities:

• Craft and lead the development of a data governance strategy, establishing policies and standards.
• Collaborate with business units, understanding their data and information needs.
• Forge strong relationships with colleagues, establishing data ownership.
• Analyse data across different file shares and repositories.
• Architect, maintain, and optimize data architecture, applying governance standards and security measures.
• Champion the migration of data to Microsoft 365.
• Educate the company about the wonders of Microsoft 365, ensuring widespread buy-in.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data for business insights.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements
• Deliver regular reports on data management activities, contributing to IT planning.
• Assist in training and upskilling selected staff members.
• Stay at the forefront of industry best practices and emerging data technologies.

This is a role that requires onsite presence and so people able to live and work in the local area will be considered.
