What you’ll do…

Building a portfolio of owned and partnership brands is a key growth and transformation strategy for M&S and in this role you would be responsible for supporting the shaping and development of the 3rd party Brand strategy for Clothing and Home. Working with the Business Development Manager and wider 3PB team, you will provide insight and analysis to identify a target list of brands, conducting the relevant research and due diligence to ensure they meet the defined M&S criteria.

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Supporting the development of the Brands strategy for M&S and update/refine as required. Support Business Development Manager and Category Leads with data and insight for deep-dive strategies into specific categories and business areas
  • Collect, organise and manipulate large amounts of data using databases and other technologies. Continually scans market to identify opportunities for partnership, conducting research to ensure fit with M&S
  • Manage the contract database and tracking of updates and renewals. Supporting on outreach to pipeline brands and tracking pipeline progress. Manage documents, trackers and databases for the Business Development team
  • Building strong relationships by building positive, engaging relationships with Brand Partners, giving them confidence in M&S. Build key relationships and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure initiatives are fully understood and cross functional impacts are understood and mitigated
  • Work with Finance to ensure that the costs and benefits of new brands and acquisitions are tracked, managed and realised

Who you are…

Your skills and experience will include

  • Good understanding of Clothing & Home retailing and the market
  • Strong relationship skills and positive personal impact
  • Data analysis and ability to derive actionable insights wit previous strategy, insight or Business Development experience, ideally in Retail.
  • Highly organised with previous experience at managing multiple priorities/projects. Demonstrates an ability to work across a matrix organisation and to influence & drive progress where not accountable
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen – able to analyse complex data from multiple sources to drive financial and commercial decisions
