Job Details:

Woodrow Mercer Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Director to support a Public Benefit Entity based in the Midlands on a permanent basis.

Hours: Office hours are 9am-5pm; Monday – Friday

Location: Hybrid working. Expectation is at least one day per week in the office. Travel will also be required to prospective and existing client organisations and events.

Role purpose: To understand prospective and current client needs and translate them into actionable strategies and to deliver excellent service. As a key part of the leadership team the BD Director will play a fundamental role in shaping the strategy and driving their mission.

Job Overview:

  • Oversee the operations and performance of the Relationship Management, Service Delivery, and Business Development teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to build client base, deliver and improve client services, increase customer satisfaction and maintain customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives, challenges and expectations.
  • Represent the organisation and strengthen its profile at meetings, conference and industry events.
  • Identify, assess and prioritise operational and strategic risks to the organisation.
  • Direct supervision of three Heads of Department, providing leadership, coaching, guidance and support.
  • Ensure all three teams align with each other as well as the organisation’s mission, strategic objectives, and policy guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Executive Team to set broad organisational goals, strategies, and policies.
  • Drive organisational excellence by setting and implementing best practice standards.
  • Drive organisational efficiency by ensuring technology enables us and is effective in driving quality and removing manual processes.
  • Monitor team performance against goals to ensure progress is being made and stay abreast of the latest trends in client service management.
  • Participate in budget development and oversight processes.

Key Skills and Attributes (essential)

•Proven experience in a leadership role within the not-for-profit sector.

•Extensive experience in client services/Business Development roles and relationship management.

•Proven ability to win new clients and retain (and grow) existing clients.

•Strong understanding of strategic and operational management processes.

•Excellent leadership and people management skills.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and clients.

•Proficient in strategic planning and Business Development.

•Proven track record of successful leading and managing a team and driving operational excellence.

•Well organised with good project management, commercial, sales and strategic planning abilities.

•Ability to gather information and transfer this in a professional report for various meetings.
