Job description

Business Development Executive - Appointment Setting (Telemarketer)
Working within the Business Development team, you will provide your colleagues with qualified appointments with prospective clients, sharing in the continued success of the business. Although experience within financial services is preferred, it is not essential. The company has a history of developing exceptional talent from a variety of sectors and providing the training and support to allow everyone to reach their potential.

The responsibilities for the role is listed below:

Telemarketing

  • Have a thorough understanding of our products and services and what makes the company an exceptional advisory firm for Employee Benefits (training/support provided)
  • To contact pre-identified prospective clients
  • Where necessary, undertake research into prospective clients prior to initial and follow-up calls, using social media platform
  • To successfully bypass gate keepers whilst gleaning as much information as possible
  • To identify and productively speak to the decision makers for Employee Benefits ensuring qualified, quality and productive meetings are set
  • To identify benefit renewal dates, existing broker relationships, key insurers, annual premiums and fee/commission costs and any other relevant information to assist in the prospecting of the target client
  • To arrange appointments for designated colleagues to visit or have an introductory Teams call
  • To ensure an effective and prompt hand-over of individual prospective client information to the designated colleague


Pipeline Management

  • To undertake prospect database cleansing activities
  • To promptly and accurately update and maintain databases of prospective client data
  • To assist in the further development of prospective client databases, through the addition of new potential clients
  • To manage a diary system thereby supporting the ongoing contact strategy for the prospective client databases
  • To accurately process and control marketing documentation and general correspondence
  • To ensure that all prospecting responses are documented and delivered in a timely manner
  • To participate fully in new business initiatives, contributing ideas to these wherever possible
  • To provide both positive and negative feedback and be entrepreneurial in how the telemarketing process can be improved to increase meeting success

  • To ensure that you treat customers fairly, in accordance with the FCA’s TCF principles.
  • To present a positive and professional image of the company in all dealings with prospective clients, existing clients, suppliers and the public in general
  • To communicate effectively, both internally and externally
  • To maintain positive and professional working relationships with colleagues
  • To manage own day-to-day activities efficiently and effectively
  • To contribute to the smooth running of the department and the company, including participation in the Company’s internal audit procedures, where required
  • To achieve and maintain the required level of Training & Competence
  • To be aware of the relevant FCA regulations and to assist the Company in remaining compliant by working within Company procedures

  • Prior experience within a telemarketing to role with demonstratable success
  • You are a strong and articulate communicator with a proficient level of written and spoken English and grammar
  • You are resilient and tenacious
  • You are keen to continually learn and develop your knowledge and skill-set
  • Curious to understand, improve and challenge/question where appropriate
  • Experience of team environments and an understanding of the importance of the team and how together we will all support each other in being successful
  • Being proactive in your thinking and how you can improve work tasks and support our busy team in being more efficient
  • Ability to efficiently manage your own workload often without supervision
  • Experience of working with online CRM databases
  • You are proficient in Word and Excel with strong organisational/administrative skills
  • Ability to develop, nurture and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
