The Business Development Manager opportunity is a permanent role working Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours per week) on a salary of between £35-40,000 dependent on experience plus up to 10% annual bonus!
The role of Business Development Manager will be passionate about finding the best solutions for their customers in order to maximise sales potential in their territory. You will nurture an existing customer base (circa 250 clients) as well as seeking new business opportunities within retail (showrooms), manufacturing and merchants. Your key duties will involve:
- Identify new business opportunities including new customers, routes to market, growth areas, and products.
- Generate leads and develop prospective customers; and re-activate dormant accounts.
- Listen to customer needs to better understand these needs and respond effectively.
- Work strategically, carrying out the necessary research and planning in order to get the most from your time.
- Have an excellent understanding of the Company’s products and apply this knowledge to help customers develop their businesses.
- Negotiate pricing with customers, and liaise with suppliers
- Attend conferences, exhibitions and events where appropriate.
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to the Regional Sales Manager and senior management.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- A full UK Driving licence (essential)
- Sales experience from a similar field based / territory sales position (Business Development Manager/ Field Sales Executive or similar)
- Previous experience within the trade industry is preferred (bathrooms, kitchens, flooring etc)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels (MD to shop floor)
- Strong negotiation skills, enabling you to agree solutions that work for the Company and their customers
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A professional, hardworking and hungry attitude
- A resilient character; you must be able to overcome setbacks and continue with enthusiasm
- Strong analytical and IT skills
