Job Title: Business Development Manager - Water Treatment & Chemicals - South
Location: Field-based, home office with travel across South England (Birmingham to Plymouth, including London, South East, and South West)
Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our water treatment chemicals business. This role involves developing business opportunities, delivering technical solutions, and ensuring timely project deliveries in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and service providers. The successful candidate will sell chemicals and technical consultancy services to domestic and industrial clients, catering to various applications including boiler water treatment, cooling water treatment, closed circuit treatment, hot & cold water treatment, effluent and influent water treatment, and drinking water treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting sales activities and territory coverage to secure orders and meet financial targets.
- Demonstrating technical and commercial expertise to maximize customer value and personal achievements.
- Providing accurate and timely information and reporting in the CRM system.
- Collaborating with marketing teams to develop growth targets and initiatives.
- Understanding customer needs, presenting solutions, and creating proposals.
- Maintaining awareness of competitor strategies to identify new business opportunities.
- Providing excellent customer service and keeping customers informed of progress.
- Representing the company at trade shows and industry conferences.
- Coordinating with internal teams and sharing best practices and insights.
Requirements:
- Degree in Science, Environmental Studies, or Engineering preferred.
- Experience in selling water treatment chemicals & technical services solutions advantageous.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and exceeding company expectations.
- Strong network and ability to develop business initiatives independently.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and sometimes on short notice.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work remotely and autonomously.
