Business Development Specialist | VC backed plant-based food startup | London (Hybrid)

Harmonic is proud to be working will a fast-growth disruptive plant-based food startup that is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join its fast-growing team.
Founded only in 2020, this startup has entered the food market with a bang with its products already being sold in major retailers such as Ocado and stocked by some of the biggest restaurant chains in London such as Pizza Pilgrims. The company is backed by some of the top investors in the food space and has already raised around £7 million in funding. It is an exciting time to enter a business which is set to grow and expand rapidly in the next 5 years.
Culture is a huge aspect to this company as the team prides themselves on being creatives that love good plant-based food. The team is incredibly passionate, non-corporate and multi-cultural and want to bring an aspect of fun and design to food. Their mission is to replicate traditional dairy products into new modern tasty plant-based alternatives.
The Role:
This company is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team looking after national wholesalers and foodservice accounts. This commercial manager will focus on working with manufacturers and caterers to grow awareness of the products in the plant-based food market.
Duties:
· Develop and manage relationships with regional wholesalers.
· Establish new national and international relationships with wholesalers in the hotels, restaurants, and leisure industries.
· Work cross functionally with the marketing team to plan launches.
· Manage the day-to-day account admin such as invoicing, onboarding of new customers and accruals.
· Gather data and insights into industry to make strategic decisions and drive growth.
· Grow the product distribution portfolio and arrange NPD launches with partners.
· Produce a sales forecast to track and report to the wider commercial teams.
· Visit customers, arrange taster sessions, and establish long-lasting relationships.
Essential Experience (what our client would like to see):
· 3+ years of experience in an FMCG company.
· 3+ years of wholesale/OOH experience.
· Strong passion for food innovation.
· Great negotiation skills
· Ability to give presentations.
· Excellent people skills.
Non-Essential Experience (What we would like to see):
· Startup experience.
· Thrives in a close-knit environment.
· Experience in PE (private equity) or VC (Venture capital backed) scaleup would be beneficial
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + equity
