Job description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Director of Business Improvement (Organisational Design) for an initial 12-18 month contract on a rate of £650-£750/day (Inside IR35). Full time working or part time 3-4 days per week. This role will be hybrid working, one day in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.
- Lead on developing and delivering a Business Improvement and organisational change programme which runs alongside the development and implementation of the new corporate plan.
- Provide additional capacity to help the Executive Team progress the requirements of the Board, Investment Committee, Audit and Risk Committee and Renumeration Committee.
- Lead and deliver Business Improvement activities drawing on internal resource and/or external consultancy support covering a broad range of business functions.  
- Backfilling gaps in leadership to help ensure service continuity.
- Contributing to the development of the new FY 25-30 corporate plan.
- Regular reporting to the Boards and Committees
- Help to embed an increased focus on delivery and outcomes.
- Other matters as appropriate and necessary.
Essential Skills:
- Director level (10+yrs experience), possibly having worked in a number of different functions and different settings. 
- Experienced in leading change and Business Improvement in a considered and people centric way.
- Providing leadership on organisational change in relation to People and culture.
- Able to flex between leading, doing and delivering (as a small organisation all colleagues need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting hands on).
- Able to form professional, respectful and supportive relationships with colleagues irrespective of seniority.
- Supporting the Chief Executive in ‘getting things done’ and ‘moving forward together’. 
- Comfortable coaching and mentoring colleagues with less experience, adopting a collaborative and inclusive approach.

- Chartered membership to a professional body associated with the business, change management, HR, law, IT or finance is beneficial.
