SSE IT is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to fill the role of Corporate Solutions BI Senior Technical Specialist. The successful applicant will be working as part of the Corporate Solutions Delivery and Support Group within the Corporate Directorate. This is a challenging role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and versatile individual. Reporting to the Corporate Solutions BI Team Leader you will be supporting and developing the OBIEE suite of products within the Solution Delivery Corporate BI team. You will manage, support and enhance the ETL batch schedules and develop and maintain the ETL processes, repository, reports and user dashboards.

This team is responsible for the development and support of the Corporate Oracle

Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE 12g) implementation. The primary data source is SSEs eBusiness Suite (v12.2.9) instance named Harmony. The platform surfaces operational reporting in the key areas of Payroll, HR, LMS, OTL, Finance (AP, GL, SLA, FA) and Order Management/Logistics.

What is the Role?

- Diagnose and resolve incidents and problems. Support other team members as appropriate.

- Provide input into, and support, the release and change management processes required to implement technical changes to our core applications.

- Take ownership of tasks required for the effective management of red alert, incident, and problem management processes.

- Provide out of hours support as required and agreed with the Team Leader.

- Adoption of agile methodologies, where appropriate, to deliver change.

Perform an active role in any coaching, mentoring and KT processes both as provider or recipient.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Strong OBIEE 12c development experience and preferably some exposure to Oracle eBusiness Suite modules.

- Proven experience of utilising ETL tooling for data manipulation

- Strong SQL development experience as well as tuning techniques.

- Experience from a similar support or development role in supporting business critical systems in a medium/large organisation.

- Have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving.

- Understanding of end-to-end design process and ability to apply it to complex projects.

- Be customer focused and committed to providing first-class customer service.
