Business Operations Director 


This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to be part of our premium brand in a newly created position, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Scania (Great Britain) Limited. 

In the position of Business Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the daily activities and processes which underpin our Business Operations.  

Through your team you will ensure our organisation operates at the highest levels of operational effectiveness and efficiency in the areas of governance, reporting, compliance, and also in providing shared services which are common to all of departments.    

This role requires someone who can think strategically, with an operational mindset, bringing simple solutions to complex situations.   The role is crucial for us in aligning our business activities with strategic goals and ensuring our business runs smoothly to improve service delivery to both internal and external customers.  

In this role, you will: 
•    Work closely with the Leadership Team to create and deliver against our Business Operations agenda 
•    Ensure alignment between organisational objectives and daily business activities 
•    Lead the ‘Governance & Reporting’, ‘Business Continuity & Compliance, ‘Risk Management’, and ‘Services Provision’ teams 
o    Governance & Reporting:  Provide coordinated single reporting structures across the business.  Lead the business-wide ‘Internal Control Systems’ (ICS) and Dealer Operating Standards (DOS) programmes
o    Business Continuity:  Have overall responsibility for our company-wide business-continuity plans
o    Compliance & Risk Management:  In conjunction with the Legal team, ensure the company adheres to the regulatory framework of relevant external authorities and internal company policies
o    Services Provision:  Provide company-wide shared services for Network Development and Property & Facilities
•    Define and monitor key performance indicators to assess our business performance, providing support for decision-making
•    Streamline processes to improve quality and consistency 
•    Identify other areas in the business where there are opportunities to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness by creating a singular “expert” team who can provide a service to the business as a whole
•    Serve as the primary point of contact between the Executive Office and the different divisions across the business

•    Regular travel across the UK (and Europe as required)
•    Experience in the heavy truck industry is not an essential requirement  
•    Fluent in English
