Your new role
Are you a digital delivery professional looking to get closer to business strategy or a business lead looking to branch into the sparkly word if digital, if so we have the role for you.
In National Highways we are transforming as a technology-driven organisation. A massive part of this is bringing digital services and the wider business together as we deliver on our purpose of Connecting the Country.
Working with and supported by our wider Business Partnering Team and Digital Services teams, you’ll be pivotal in creating strategic relationships across the company, bringing together our technology roadmaps for one or more business areas within National Highways. You will use your previous experience of digital engagement and relationship management to support business customers as they engage with Digital Services. You will act as the primary point of contact for our business colleagues.
This role has the flexibility to be based from any of our national offices (Bedford, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Guildford, Leeds, Manchester) with some travel to other UK sites, in particular, Birmingham and Bristol. We are happy to accommodate flexible working arrangements, and welcome discussion around how we can make working for National Highways work for you.
What you’ll be leading on
Building strong stakeholder relationships both within Digital Services and the wider business
Facilitating the demand management process and coaching senior stakeholders to support the formation of digital demand and development of strategic roadmaps / business cases
Supporting the Portfolio Lead to prioritise demand by championing the voice of the business
Supporting continual planning processes, planning beyond product delivery, identifying dependencies in plans across services and coordinating delivery
Communicating effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context, and successfully reacting and responding to challenge

Experience in creating effective and enduring business partnerships
Experience of enabling delivery of business and / or digital transformation in a highly respected, and ideally, regulated organisation
Strong business, commercial and financial acumen with experience of supporting budget management and planning
A focus on delivering business outcomes efficiently and effectively
Understanding of industry best practice methodologies and processes, including ITIL, Prince 2 is desirable
