Job description

About the Team

People 2, Team 1, have an exciting position available.  Within this role, you will be supporting Social Care staff within Warwickshire Youth Justice Service. The Youth Justice team works with children and young people aged 10-18yrs who have become involved within the criminal justice system – either through arrests or recognised by other agencies/professionals as being on the periphery of criminality. These are some of the most vulnerable children and require different levels of support from contextual safeguarding through to emotional and mental wellbeing and SEND needs. Youth justice will support these children through either their time in custody, court orders, out of court resolutions, bail support or preventative work.

FAST (Family and Adolescent Support Team) works with a similar cohort age of children and will be involved due to extra familial harm – this means the concerns are outside of the family home and will often be around contextual safeguarding such as risk of exploitation.

Both teams adopt a multi-agency approach working closely with other agencies such as Police, Probation, Compass and CAMHS.

About the Role

The role of Business Support is to support these teams with administrative and financial tasks as well as minuting statutory meetings. This can include court processes, scheduling panel meetings, booking reparation and supervision sessions, assisting with data analysis & returns to the Youth Justice Board as well as standard tasks associated in supporting a children’s team. This is a hugely varied role within a unique team offering a bespoke Business Support service.

The role offers exceptional learning and development opportunities and co-operative working with outside agencies, partners and also public volunteers and workers.

You will work in a team to provide effective, flexible and responsive Business Support to one of the Council’s Services, with the ability to support other teams as and when required.  It is a fast paced, energetic and exciting area to work in, where you will be part of a close team.

You will work proactively, looking for new ways of working, contributing to the outcomes of the services that you are supporting as well as the outcomes of the Business Support Service.

We are looking for someone who has good organisational skills, is able to problem solve and use their own initiative, a great attention to detail with excellent communication skills. Strong minute taking skills are essential.

As part of this role you would be required to undertake general administration duties, data analysis & interpretation, responding to queries, assisting & supporting frontline services.

Key Requirements

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, and to manage changes at short notice.
  • Good IT skills with a knowledge of systems for data management.
  • Experience of minute taking essential.
  • Flexibility to cover other offices around the County, including Nuneaton and Rugby, when required
