Exciting Opportunity:  Buyer (6-Month FTC) in Stublach Site, Northwich  

 

About Storengy UK

Storengy UK is a subsidiary of ENGIE, we developed and now operate the Stublach Natural Gas Storage site in Cheshire, the largest onshore in the UK.

 

We are actively participating in the energy transition and supporting the UK government strategy to reach net zero by 2050. We have set our own carbon neutral target of 2025. A strategy to develop biomethane production in the UK and an ambition to create and operate hydrogen storage further support these targets.

 

About the role

 

Storengy UK are recruiting for a Buyer based in Stublach Site, Northwich . This is a 6-Month Fixed Term Contrat role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions and to comply with safety rules, procedures, regulations and codes of practice. Report all events (personal injuries, equipment damage, environmental and security) to your Line Manager. Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders to improve business performance.
  • Contract management, tendering and re-tendering of the following type of contracts:
    • Site Contracts
    • Sourcing of equipment and materials for all projects
    • Contracts for operations and projects
  • Post order management of purchase orders including expediting, coordination of deliveries, payment applications, variations, invoice queries, purchase order amendments etc.
  • Ensure that all ENGIE and Storengy procedures are complied with and all actions are auditable while also maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards.
  • Ensure that all activities identified within the department are completed in a timely manner.

 

Key Requirements

  • Experience in a purchasing role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience of managing each stage of the procurement process from requisition to pay in compliance with Group rules.
  • Experience and ability to work in a dynamic environment balancing demands of day to day workload and general operational requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ability to represent the functional requirements and needs in meetings with suppliers, sub-contractors and Storengy Management.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing ERP systems, such as SAP, Maximo, Sage, COINS, Oracle etc.
  • NVQ, HNC, Negotiation or similar in a Procurement based subject – Non-essential
