C# Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Senior Software Engineer with C# is sought by leading Investment Bank to join their quantitative engineering team within their Capital Markets Operations. A pure backend C# role, it will see you working on the enhancement of their analytics library used in trading applications across the globe - from desktops and Real Time trading applications to risk engines. Based on the trading floor, you will collaborate closely with quants and traders.

It is all about innovation and creativity, focusing on key areas such as improved distributed computing, Linux infrastructure, cluster optimizations, modernizing spreadsheet integrations, and enhancing quant/developer productivity with optimized pricing frameworks. You will also be involved in developing critical Real Time and end-of-day trading applications built on our analytics library. They follow a DevOps model, which means they are hands-on and team members own and operate everything they build. Testing, automation, metrics, and monitoring are all critical to their success, you will interact directly with the trading desks that use the applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance software applications using C#
• Develop distributed systems and microservices that can operate at scale
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing and other quality assurance activities
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features
• Maintain and support existing applications and systems
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that our products remain competitive and innovative.
  

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Engineering (preferred)
• A very strong background in Software Engineering using C#.
• Financial services as a minimum, FI, rates and commodities are of particular interest
• Strong experience with modern C# development and object-oriented programming
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience in high performance computing is desirable

£150k base salary plus bonus plus benefits VP Level

£200k base salary plus bonus plus benefits Director Level

Please note, this role is 4 days a week in the London office.
