Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Maker to join our team. As a Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing cabinets, furniture, and other wooden structures. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in using power tools, hand tools, and various woodworking techniques. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces according to specifications
- Operate power tools such as saws, drills, sanders, and routers
- Use hand tools to perform precise tasks such as sanding, shaping, and finishing
- Install hardware components such as hinges, handles, and locks
- Apply finishes such as paint or varnish to completed products
- Repair or replace damaged cabinets or furniture pieces
- Collaborate with designers or clients to ensure project requirements are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools commonly used in woodworking
- Knowledge of woodworking techniques such as joinery and carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts
- Familiarity with different types of wood materials and their characteristics
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring for cabinet lighting installations (preferred)
- Experience in masonry work for custom fireplace surrounds or countertops (preferred)
