Title Cable / Harness Technician (12 month FTC)
Location Bedford
Hours 37.5 hours (4 day week, Monday-Thursday)
An exciting opportunity for a competent technician, capable of cable and harness manufacturing, to work from drawings and engineering instruction within a team. You will need to be competent and be able to safely use all hand tools, Jigs, fixtures and measuring tools. You must be a problem solver with a positive attitude. You will be working with support from an engineering group but you must have a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware. There is opportunity for ongoing training and support.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
Cable and Harness manufacturing to specifications using Work instructions and Engineering drawings.
Understanding of ESD controls.
Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.
Competent with using IT/Software packages.
Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.
A high level of health and safety awareness.
Advantageous but not essential:
Certified IPC J-STD 001 OR experience working with IPC J-STD 001 standards.
The Cable/Harness Technician role will involve working on UK classified programmes, the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
