2D and 3D CAD Technician £30 - £35K, Days, Monday to Friday, Permanent position, 28-day holiday, Quarterly and yearly production bonus, plus Overtime paid at x1.5 after 40 hours.

Location of the 2D and 3D CAD Technician: Sutton Coldfield

A leading manufacturing company require a Graduate or Skilled 2D and 3D CAD Technician to join their team as the company continues to grow in its sector.
The company operate in a clean modern working environment and the team is made up of loyal and long-serving designers and technicians with a willingness to share their specialised knowledge.

Duties of the 2D and 3D CAD Technician:

• Create detailed CAD drawings and designs using software such as AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.


• Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specification.


• Review and interpret technical drawings for manufacture.


• Make necessary modifications to existing drawings based on project changes or client feedback.


• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all CAD drawings and designs.


• Maintain organized files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.


• Production of digital parts ready for manufacture.


• Programming and operating CNC machines including Laser Cutters (Fibre and CO2), CNC Routers and 3D Printers.


• Recording modifications and a log of digital models.

Key requirements for the 2D and 3D CAD Technician:

• Preferably have at least 6 months experience in 3D CAD Designer roles.


• Experience in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks Professional and AutoCAD)


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.


• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.


• Have a flexible approach to work which is sometimes outside normal working hours.
