Cad Technician

My client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire who specialize in manufacturing a range of products for the building and construction markets.
As part of the company’s 2024 growth plans, they are now looking to recruit a highly motivated CAD Technician and Trainee CAD Technician to join the dynamic engineering team based in Barnsley and comes with career development and future progression opportunities.
Position Overview
As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting engineering projects by creating detailed technical drawings using CAD software. You will work closely with sales and production departments, working on new exciting projects.
As the Trainee CAD Technician, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop a range of software and design engineering skills including contributing to the development of new innovative projects.
These positions will be based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire working Monday to Friday, days based and both offer an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial individuals with a passion in engineering or design. Candidates who have no prior Cad or Design experience are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings based on project requirements.
* Collaborate closely with engineers and other team members to ensure designs meet specifications and standards.
* Revise and update existing CAD drawings and models as required.
* Assist in the development and implementation of CAD standards and best practices.
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand project objectives and timelines.
Cad Technician Requirements
* To apply for the CAD Technician, you will be Proficient in CAD software.
* You will have some experience working with SolidWorks or AutoDesk Inventor.
* Entrepreneurial character with Strong attention to detail and ability to produce technical drawings.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive attitude towards learning and development.
Trainee CAD Technician Requirements
* To apply for the Trainee CAD Technician, you are not required to have previous Cad or Design experience as full training will be provided.
* You will however be highly motivated with the aspiration to learn new skills.
