Role Description:
Bridge Recruitment currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Technician/Draughtsman to join the Team of one of our clients, an events and exhibition company supporting customers across the UK. As CAD Technician/Draughtsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and plans for exhibition stand structures, furniture and components. Working closely with project managers, designers and stakeholders, you will ensure the designs meet requirements and safety standards. The ideal CAD Technician/Draughtsman will ideally be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, and will have an excellent understanding of construction processes and materials.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed technical drawings and plans for exhibition stand structures and components using computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Apply quality control measures to ensure that documentation meets project specifications and company standards
Work closely with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into designs as necessary
Participate in project meetings to discuss design details and modifications
Coordinate with production teams to obtain necessary approvals for designs
Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness and adherence to specifications
Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in the design process
Maintain organised records of all drawings and related documentation within document control systems and ensure their availability to site teams
Create and update drawing logs and archives for easy reference
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, with the ability to create detailed parts and assembly drawings, as well as library components
Proficiency in AutoCAD, specifically for creating DXF files to be CNC cut
Understanding of construction processes and materials
Attention to detail and accuracy in design, particularly within Autodesk Inventor
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to exhibition stand construction is preferred
