Job description

As a NovaCity employee the position of Café Operative is open-ended, based on the needs of the café along with the individual employee’s strengths, skills, and special needs. Duties may include (but are not limited to) the following:

. Preparing and cooking meals

greeting patrons as they enter the cafe area

delivering food to customers with a smile

taste testing and quality assurance

collecting and returning dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing

washing, sanitising, and drying dishes

re-stocking refrigerators, shelves, and displays

maintaining a clean and orderly café area

counting and tracking inventory

cleaning checks must be complete before the end of shift

to comply to the standards of “Safer Food Better Business for Caters” document.

You are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift starting to prepare the café facilities ready to serve on time.

You are responsible for making sure that all policies and procedures are fully met, and that communication with the rest of the employees in NovaCity is done on a daily basis.

All NovaCity staff have the important role of safeguarding all children that attend NovaCity. You are expected to fully understand and follow the company’s Safeguarding policy and procedure, and have the ability to acknowledge and report any signs to the safeguarding lead.

NovaCity needs all staff to be diverse and be able to adapt to change of job roles if it aids the progression of NovaCity.

Contract length: 12 months

Salary: £6.50-£10.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All customers who do not participate in sport classes wear masks. Social distancing throughout our venues. Surfaces cleaned regularly. Deep clean at the end of each day. Classes limited to government guidelines.
