Job description

Scope:

Permanent position to join a globally leading pharmaceutical company, ensuring calibrations are completed as per schedule and instrumentations are managed in-line with technical norms applicable to pharmaceutical industries. You will focus on continuous improvement to ensure compliance and assist the wider engineering group to avoid reactive breakdown, providing electrical/instrumentation and calibration tasks to a proactive and predictive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibrations on time and before the instrument due date, support qualification procedes in line with the Maintenance programme and SOPs to meet GMP requirements
  • Assist with instrument/equipment lifecycle documentation for new and legacy systems and associated validation procedures
  • Ensure calibration master data is kept up to date and accurate to approved instrument CRAs
  • Initiate and progress change controls, deviations and CAPAs
  • Develop a maintenance programme for plant and lab equipment/indstumentation within CMX and SAP systems
  • Analyse calibration breakdowns and trends to determine root cause and appropriate short, middle, and long-term actions to improve efficiency
  • All data captured and recorded appropriately within the CMMS
  • Fault finding on industrial equipment, lab equipment, autoclaves and instrumentation
  • Calibration of instrument loops, chart recorders, and discrete devices
  • Minor alteration and installation work of instrumentation equipment
  • Training of other technicians - all new maintenance staff are trained and competent in all areas
  • Ensure spares are maintained, and are harmonised to reduce variability
  • Initiate deviation/CAPA within 2 working days of non conformance, complete all deviations within the agreed 30/45 day period
  • Proactively review P&ID, CRA, Master Data and working instructions, when required, initiate the documentation updates

About You:

  • Maintenance/engineering background in the pharmaceutical, hospital or food industries
  • Excellent communication skills, articulating complex problems concisely and simply to a wide audience
  • Good IT skills working with a variety of standard working platforms and technical documentation and trends
  • The ability to formulate and clearly articulate ideas, and present and implement compelling cases for change and investment
  • Drive for results in terms of team delivery and personal output
  • Control system literate
