Job description

Are you an experienced and driven campaigner and organiser? Would you relish the opportunity to work with both employed and freelance Union members at a key time in the creative sector?
The MU represents over 34,000 musicians across the UK working in all sectors of the music business and is currently looking to recruit a Campaign & Organising Support Official.
This role is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months and although based in the Communications and Government Relations Department it will work across the organisation with colleagues, activists and members involved in campaigns and industrial action. We are open to the role being carried out as a secondment for an individual currently working for another organisation.
The role will help develop our collective knowledge and experience of running campaigns and organising musicians nationally, and in providing or organising training across the organisation.
The successful applicant will provide additional resource across any industrial action or initiatives, and will support our MU campaigns, in particular taking a key role in our upcoming Freelance Fightback campaign.
We are offering a salary of £66,634 and offer excellent staff benefits, pension, and training. We will provide the equipment necessary to carry out the role.
This job will be hybrid, working from home and our National Office in London. It will report to the Head of Communications & Government Relations and is offered on a flexible basis such that it might fit alongside other responsibilities or commitments.
