Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Canteen Worker. As a Canteen Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and providing excellent customer service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling sandwiches
- Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, serving food, and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns
- Upsell menu items and promote daily specials to enhance the dining experience
- Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe dining environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the canteen
Experience:
- Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen setting is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Note: This is a paid position. Internship positions must also be compensated according to labor laws.
Note: You will be required to go through a vetting process which can take up to 5/6 weeks before commencing employment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 25 per week
