Job Summary:

Work location: London
Hours per week: 36
Contract type: Temporary up to 12 months
Closing date: 27th March 2024

About Us:

Use your property knowledge to help us develop an ambitious approach to supporting vulnerable adults.

At The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, we aren’t afraid to ask ourselves how we could do things better. Putting people at the heart of every decision, we are constantly challenging ourselves to explore ambitious avenues that will lead to better outcomes for our local residents, and as such, we are embarking on a truly unique venture. We are currently developing a partnership between departments in which accommodation-based solutions for vulnerable adults will enable more people to remain independent for as long as possible – and it is here that we need your help.

The Role:

As our Adult Social Care (ASC) Capital Transformation Lead, you will be the bridge between ASC and Capital Projects. With a focus on delivering improved services for some of the borough’s most vulnerable people, including those who are elderly and physically disabled, you will develop and establish business cases, project initiation documents and capital bids that will enable us to go further in our work.

Managing a number of projects with multiple inter-connecting dependencies, you will work with members of the public, stakeholders and colleagues across our departments to understand and define the expectations and parameters of each project. With the ability to translate complex information for a broad variety of audiences, you will see to it that the team are working towards shared goals as you determine the right level of resources for each initiative. From providing monthly forecasts and maintaining a close aware of governance standards through to developing exceptional relationships with all project stakeholders, you will act as the glue in each project, seeing it to successful completion!

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team who are striving to achieve exceptional outcomes for our local people, so we will expect you to be proactive, solutions-focused and passionate about delivering projects on time and within budget. Ready to hit the ground running, you will know how to balance the needs of multiple projects, so we will expect you to have a good knowledge of governance requirements within equivalent projects. With experience of property management and development and a background in supporting capital projects for buildings or properties, you will be capable of working with both private and public sector partners. As such, we will expect you to have the ability to interpret legal documents, drawings and data, and you will have great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence others.

In turn, we can offer you a competitive benefits package and an exceptional working environment, with the full support of a collaborative, diverse and friendly team. Embracing a hybrid working model, you will have access to great learning and development opportunities, and you will find one-to-one guidance whenever you need it.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.
