Care Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Marchmont.

Main Responsibilities -

• Assist/support residents with all aspects of personal care in accordance with individual needs.
• Assist/support residents in all aspects of care needs, including physical, emotional, social and spiritual, ensuring that they retain their comfort and dignity.
• Assist residents with individual dietary requirements ensuring preferences, special diets and any cultural dietary needs are respected. Assist in the serving of food and drink. Clean/wash up as required. Record dietary/fluid intake/output as instructed by senior staff.
• Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by senior staff members
• Observe care planning needs for individual residents and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure correct use of equipment e.g. hoists and wheelchairs.
• Escort residents where required, to healthcare appointments and social events if required.

Essential:

Genuine interest in working within care of elderly persons
Ability to work as part of a team
Attending mandatory training
Willingness to attend vocational training programmes

Desired:

Have SVQ Level II or III or working towards minimum SVQ Level II.
Experience in working with elderly persons in a care setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.20 per hour
