What you will get in your new role

The position requires 30 hours of work per week and offers an annual salary of £21,621, along with the benefit of free on-site parking. The role entails day shifts based on an 8-hour schedule with a weekly rotating roster. This is a temp-to-perm role, where the chef will undergo a trial period for a few weeks before a permanent offer is made. Once permanent, you will be entitled to 5.6 weeks of holiday annually. On bank holidays, you will receive time and a half pay, and on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, you will earn double time. Additionally, after completing one year of service, you can enroll in the health care programme, which provides access to services such as physiotherapy, medical consultations, dental care, and counseling.

Responsibilities within your new role as a Care Home Cook

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents according to their dietary needs and preferences
• Ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with food hygiene regulations and best practices
• Manage food portions and wastage effectively to minimise costs
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment

Your personality, experience and qualifications 

• PVG certificate is essential
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Care Home setting
• Good knowledge and understanding of textured diets and allergies
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
