Job description

Cloud Recruit has partnered with an award-winning care provider, to recruit highly motivated and experienced Care Officer/Shift leader to work nights.

Main Role:

  • To be responsible to the Registered Manager, for the day-to-day duties within the home and the care and support of the Young People.
  • To implement and follow the home’s operational policies, and the care practice standards.
  • To provide and ensure that care is within a warm and supportive atmosphere.
  • To implement individual care plans so as to ensure the welfare of each Young Person. To offer support and guidance to bank staff and volunteers working within Serenity Specialist Care Limited. To offer support to the Managers of the home.

Candidate must:

? To have an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Residential Care Worker.

? A willingness and ability to demonstrate respect and regard towards people with (or without) a learning disability.

? To be able to communicate well with service users, other professionals, parents and relatives.

? To be able to record accurately and write clear reports.

? To be able to work shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis, and attend meetings in off duty time.

? To have an understanding of the needs of people who have a additional needs and be able to respond to those needs appropriately.

? To have experience and knowledge of how to manage challenging behaviours

? To have general good health as moving and handling people may be part of the tasks undertaken.

? Ability to respond appropriately to Young People’s personal care needs showing respect and sensitivity.

? Ability to work professionally showing tact and confidentiality.

? Ability to provide stimulating activities for Young People.

? Ability to work in various setting and locations.

? Ability to work positively within a team and the ability to work without direct supervision.

? Willingness to undertake training.

? To take key worker responsibility, liaising with other professionals, writing review reports and attending review meetings for identified Young People.

Education & Experience

? At least 6 months experience of working (paid or voluntary) with young people with in care settings is preferable, all training will be provided.

? NVQ 3 / level 3 or 4 diploma or equivalent in residential care (children/young people) if worked in children’s homes for 2 years or more. If 2 years or under, willingness to undertake the qualification is essential.
