This role
As a Care and Support Worker you will join our team providing support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, mental health, and some challenging behaviour in Station Road.
The scheme supports up to nine customers. Each customer has unique learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and individual care requirements. The focus is maintaining independent living and achieving social inclusion for our customers.
You will be required to work flexibly over a seven-day rota, including bank holidays. This is a 37.5-hour contract. Shifts are 07:00- 14:30, 14:30-22:00 plus sleep-ins of 22:00 to 07:00 next morning. Shifts can change depending on the need of the service.

To deliver high quality care to Customers and their families
To provide the highest quality care to customers in their own homes in accordance with their support plan, in person-centred approach.
The range of tasks that the Care and Support Worker may be required to undertake covers personal care, domestic/practical tasks, and enabling and support work:
Social duties include preparing and cooking meals, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
Enabling and support may include such activities as supervising, monitoring, and coaching to empower customers to be as independent as possible and have control over their own lives. Care and Support Workers may also be required to escort or accompany customers on outings, appointments, visiting leisure facilities and on holidays.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a similar role is essential.
We are looking for you to demonstrate on your CV experience as a Care and Support Worker ideally supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Knowledge of care plans and how they should be maintained is essential. As all of our records are recorded on a central IT system. Confidence at learning new IT skills is also required. Knowledge to on how to use a computer system is essential
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Enhanced Adult & Child Barred list once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
