CAREERS AND CURRICULUM ADMINISTRATOR

Salary: £19,880 - £20,550 actual salary pro rata (Grade 3, SCP 4-6)
Term Time Only (Plus 5 INSET Days)
37 hours a week, Monday-Friday (opportunities for additional hours may be available)
PERMANENT


We are looking to appoint a dynamic and forward thinking Administrator for Careers and Curriculum, to work as part of the wider Academy Administrative team who is a motivated and independent person who is committed to provide support for our students and staff to provide administrative support specifically to Curriculum Leaders and the Careers Lead. The successful person will work under the instruction and guidance of the Associate Assistant Principal (Vocational and Careers), Careers Lead and Assistant Principal (Curriculum Inclusion) and other key staff to complete work set by staff to provide support for staff, students and their families. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference to the lives of our students.
We would welcome applications from candidates with limited experience as well as those who may have worked with children and in administration before.  However, we are looking for a dynamic administrator who is well-organised, friendly and passionate about supporting the development of students. We provide excellent support and guidance to successful candidates at all levels of prior experience from a dedicated and experienced team of staff. 

The main aim of the role is to support staff and students through supporting with the effective organisation and administration of careers interviews, work experience opportunities and placements and support the Careers Lead with the organisation and administration of our Careers programme across all Key Stages. In addition, the successful candidate will support the Curriculum Leaders in providing administrative support for staff for a range of curriculum based activities, parent’s events and other events to ensure these activities run well for students, staff and parents. Knowledge and experience of careers, curriculum knowledge and working with secondary age students would be an advantage. The successful candidate will need to work with a wide range of staff, students, parents, employers and stakeholders such as employers, so good communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate should:
•    have at least 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Level 4 (Grade C) or above
•    have some experience of working with students at Key stage 3 and 4 and their families in particular, preferably within an educational setting
•    have some knowledge of the secondary curriculum and/ careers/work experiences for students
•    have a high level of administrative skills and abilities
•    have a passion for learning and working with children and families to support them 
•    be able to work independently and manage own time as needed within the demands of the role
•    have the ability to motivate, inspire and go the extra mile for our students, families and staff
•    be able to inspire students and get the best from them 
•    be positive, enthusiastic and resilient
•    be an effective team member
•    have a clear understanding of supporting teaching and learning
•    have highly developed inter – personal skills, communication and excellent ICT skills
•    be ambitious for further career development and enhancement
•    be able to work effectively with students, staff and parents, 
•    meet the job specification criteria
•    have a clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding and equal opportunities
