Careers Lead at Quorn Hall School
Permanent and Term Time Only (plus 10 days during the summer holidays)
£26,000 (actual salary)
Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday 
Start date: 27th August 2024

Job role
An exciting opportunity has become available at our school for a Careers Lead to join the team. As our new Careers Lead you will take lead responsibility and accountability for the delivery of our school’s programme of careers advice and guidance. Amongst other responsibilities you will support our young people's pathway into adulthood and support KS4 transitions to their next destination.

Key responsibilities include:
•    Build positive relationships with our students and encourage them in their interests
•    To plan the whole school curriculum area for careers advice and guidance and deliver sessions to Key Stage 4
•    Coordinate with local businesses to identify and create opportunities for our students, including work experience.
•    Arrange and oversee career interviews conducted by external advisors, ensuring alignment with students' aspirations and goals.
•    Collaborate with post-16 provisions to establish partnerships and facilitate smooth transitions for school leavers.

Experience
The appointed candidate will have experience working with young people in an educational / residential / social work /youth work setting. You will also ideally have experience working with young people with additional needs, specifically SEMH and Autism. 

Experience working within the careers sector and holding a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Advice and Guidance is desirable but not essential. You will need to hold GCSEs in English and Maths (A*-C or equivalent). The postholder is required to hold a full and valid driving licence.
