Careers & NEET Prevention Adviser.
Hours: 37 per week.
Salary: Grade 8 (£33,024 - £35,745).

This is Temporary post till 31 August 2025.

The Connexions Service in Dudley supports young people through their transition to adult life and focussing on their progression to education, employment or training. The service is targeted at those most at risk of becoming NEET and those who are NEET.

The service also provides careers information, advice, guidance, and support to young people 13-19 up to 25 for those young people with special educational needs or disabilities] to help them make informed choices about learning, employment and training and has a statutory responsibility to support the participation in learning of all young people until their 18th birthday.

 Primary vulnerable group include children looked after and care experienced, young people with SEND, young offenders, teenage parents and homeless. The service works with the young people to help them to identify and assess the impact of the barriers to their progression and uses solution focussed interventions to enable young people achieve their potential. 

 We are looking for a creative, flexible, and highly organised individual who has experience of engaging with and supporting young people. Ideally you should be level 3 qualified in Advice and Guidance, Youth work or a similar field. Equally you may have experience in a similar role that involves speaking to young individuals, particularly those who are NEET, or knowledge of working with care-experienced young people.

Working in a range of settings in the community, the NEET Support Worker will manage a caseload of young people and support them to access post school education, employment and training.
