As a Careers Officer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students at all levels through their career journeys. You will help them explore opportunities in Higher Education, Apprenticeships, employment, and more. Your role will be dynamic and varied, involving engagement with students through drop-ins, appointments, and the Tutorial support programme. Additionally, you will contribute to key Open Days and Curriculum Events, providing crucial advice and guidance.
We are looking for a qualified professional with proven experience as a Careers Adviser/Officer. You should have at least a Level 4 qualification in Careers Guidance, with a willingness to work towards Level 6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will need to effectively market services and engage with students, staff, and external agencies. Competence in IT is also important, as you will be responsible for producing and managing an online Careers platform.
An inclusive approach is vital in this role. Experience working with diverse students, including those with additional learning needs and/or Education Health and Care Plans, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UCAS application process and providing guidance to Higher Education students will be a significant advantage and engagement with community and employability initiatives such as Skills Bootcamps would be beneficial.

This role offers flexibility, typically averaging 30 hours per week during Term Time. However, we are open to discussing and exploring different working arrangements as part of the recruitment process to best suit both our collective needs.

Please note this is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months working an average of 30 hours per week for 42 weeks of the year.
