Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer – Cambridge – Permanent

A well-established technology company based on the outskirts of Cambridge are looking for a Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer Role

• Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Caretaker/Site Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and security of our premises. The company relies on their facility to enable the team to produce and support world-leading radio spectrum monitoring products.
• You will be investigating faults and issues, performing light maintenance tasks and co[1]ordinating external service providers. Assuring that our building is always fit-for-purpose and clean, the Caretaker/Site Maintenance will also contribute to the upkeep of health and safety procedures.
• Above all, they are looking for someone who cares as much as we do that our premises are a pleasant and productive place to work.

Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
• Planned maintenance as scheduled (fire alarm tests, emergency lighting tests etc.).
• Performing light maintenance tasks (Painting, reactive repairs etc.).
• Minor plumbing, electrical work, and repairs to building fabric.
• Maintain and monitor alarm and access control systems, raise potential security issues and liaise with visitors when required.
• Scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising contractors onsite.
• Providing updates to colleagues, ensuring they are made aware of scheduled tasks and progress in a timely manner.
• Reporting and resolving deficiencies to avoid faults and risks to health and safety.
• Completion of documentation as required, including RAMS.

Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer Requirements

• Have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
• Previous experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an office and manufacturing environment.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Caretaker / Site Maintenance Engineer Package

• Salary £26,000 per annum
• Hours (Flexible) e.g 9am-5.30pm or 7.30am – 4pm
• Considering part-time contract for a suitable candidate, to a minimum of 4 days per week, salary pro rata.
