Case Officer - Financial Assessments - Leicestershire

Contract – Full Time

Duties/Responsibilities:

• To acquire and maintain awareness of appropriate specialist knowledge of non-residential and residential departmental charging policies and procedures; to ensure they are consistently applied and are reflected within the service provided by the team.
• You will be working with older and disabled people and their representatives to obtain all appropriate financial and other relevant information for the purpose of undertaking a financial assessment for care and support in either a residential/nursing home or in the community.
• Undertake financial assessments for adults and children services, in accordance with existing legislation and the clients policies and practice and advise service users of their charges.
• To obtain all appropriate financial and other relevant information for the purpose of calculating the weekly assessed charge (from online financial assessment, Care Pathway colleagues, post or personal visit if required) and complete relevant documentation as part of the financial assessment.
• To communicate effectively with other Departmental colleagues, other departments and appropriate external agencies, in order to assist service users and the financial assessment process.
• To comply with the Client policies and supporting documentation in relation to Information Governance this includes Data Protection, Information Security and Confidentiality, ensuring that accurate information is held (on data management systems such as Oracle/LAS/ContrOCC) outlook and paper files and communicated safely and securely and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches.
• To ensure that all data recording, monitoring, and reporting is undertaken and processed in line with organisational requirements.
• To promote the use of the Online Financial Assessment Tool to maximise its usage by service users.
  Contribute to further development to maximise its effectiveness and efficiency.
• To prioritise and manage their own caseload; work and communicate with service users and other agencies through visits, phone, email/online or post (as appropriate).
• To participate in the development and testing of systems that support process improvement.
