Our Special Educational Needs (SEN) Caseworkers play a vital role, supporting children, young people and their families.
We are looking for professionals to join our team supporting the co-ordination and management of Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessments and plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Service is very highly regarded nationally and rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
As a good all-round communicator, you will join a supportive Casework Team where you will be trained, supported and nurtured to develop and succeed. This is a challenging, responsible and interesting role within a very busy working environment.
You will have a sensitive approach to the requirements of children and young people with SEN and their families so will need to be confident in building relationships with families, colleagues and stakeholders. With good IT and written communication skills, you should be able to deal with a range of complex information including decision making within agreed procedures.
Ideally you will have experience of Special Educational Needs (SEN) statutory processes. We are also interested to hear from candidates with a background in SEN education/social care/health/careers advice, who can manage multiple stakeholders whilst following procedure, to deliver effective outcomes.
In this role you will be liaising with a range of professionals, families and young people to ensure special educational provision is in place to support young people but will not be directly carry out special educational provision with young people with SEN.

The current expectation is to be office based for one day per week, working from home for the remainder.
