Category Lead - Long-term Contract, Hybrid
A new role has opened with a Central Government Department. This is a key position for someone with a strong background in category management and public sector procurement. This is a hybrid position with three days per week working from the office.
The location is flexible, as the offices are located in either Liverpool or Birmingham, though some travel will be required.
This is a 12-month contract. It is a great chance to build up your network in a major Department within Central Government. It offers flexibility in terms of location coupled with a hybrid working solution, all in a long-term contract that also has the possibility of being extended.
The role requires someone with experience in Category and Crisis Management, particularly with experience dealing with travel industry, and working knowledge of Public Sector Procurement.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the category response and provide proactive and flexible support
* Supporting the creation, execution and evolution of a world class, market leading category strategy for UK and Global travel
* Leading the development and delivery of commercial solutions
* Line management responsibility for a small team of Category Managers
Requirements:
* Travel Industry experience, passion and knowledge.
* Strong background in procurement
* Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and support senior team members during crisis support activities.
* MCIPS qualification
