We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in optimising the product assortment.
Position Overview:
As the Category Manager, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decision-making in our product assortment. We are looking for a candidate with a background in retail buying or merchandising, possessing a strong analytical mindset and a track record of optimizing product categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis:
Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes.
Generate actionable insights to drive informed decision-making regarding product assortment, pricing, and inventory management.
Category Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive category plans aligned with overall business objectives, leveraging analytical insights.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, ensuring optimal product availability and competitive pricing based on data analysis.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from introduction to discontinuation, using data-driven insights to optimize the product portfolio.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate product launches, promotions, and inventory management.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, using data to inform strategic partnerships and negotiations.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve the best possible pricing and conditions for our product portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in an analytical role, with a background in distribution or retail buying or merchandising.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics tools and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business growth through effective category management.
