Are you passionate about food and looking for a rewarding opportunity to work within an SEN School? We have an immediate opening for a Catering Assistant to join our lovely school in Brent. This is an exciting role that offers a chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
Working Hours: 8:00am - 1:30pm (Monday to Friday)
The role of a Catering Assistant within this Ofsted Outstanding school is crucial in providing nutritious meals and a pleasant dining experience for our students. You will have the opportunity to assist in our cafe/shop area, ensuring that students have access to delicious food options throughout the day.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving meals, snacks, and beverages to students and staff
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
- Assisting with food preparation, such as chopping vegetables and portioning ingredients
- Taking orders and handling cash transactions in the cafe/shop area
- Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with the catering team to develop and improve menu options
- Administration and stock taking
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a catering or food service role
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and work in a fast-paced environment
