Facility Services within Resources of Midlothian Council operate a catering service based with Primary Schools and High Schools across Midlothian.

This post is based in Various kitchens working 38 weeks of the year.

Assisting the Kitchen Catering Supervisor in the day-to-day operational requirements of the kitchen including the basic food preparation, serving of all foods, cleaning, and maintenance and checking of equipment

KNOWLEDGE

The knowledge for the post is acquired through either on or off the job training and experience.

Once in post the Jobholder is required to gain the elementary food hygiene certificate and Allergen certificate.

Kingspark Primary Kitchen - 19 hours (Mon to Thurs– 10:00 - 14:00, Friday 9:00 - 12:00)

Lawfield Primary Kitchen - 10 hours (Mon to Thurs – 11:30 - 14:00)

Newbattle High Kitchen - 12 hours (Mon to Thurs 11:30 - 14:30)

Roslin Primary Kitchen - 18 hours (Mon to Thurs 9:00 - 13:45)

St David's Primary School - 16 hours (Mon to Thurs 10:15 - 13:45)

Easthouses Primary x3 - 16 hours (Mon - Thurs 10:00 - 14:00)

Contract Status: Fixed term for 6 months

Hours of Work: Various

Working Pattern: Various

Weeks per year: 38

Salary: Grade 1 (£12.59 per hour) - salary will be pro rata depending on hours

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
