Job Purpose:
To manage the Kenfig factory site canteen, including stock ordering and purchasing for weekly menu preparation, for up to 100 covers, serving breakfast and lunch meals, purchase and manage vending machine stock, accounting for all product costs profit and turn over, independent of the main business.
Always Keeping a high-quality product output and high standard of cleanliness to ensure the canteen retains it’s 5-star hygiene rating.

This role holds a basic salary, to be agreed, however, the role will require the individual to be independent financially, in stock purchase and control for canteen and vending facilities.
Facilities and energy use will be gratis and is included as part of the overall package.
About the role
Daily Duties
Ensure that safety procedures are adhered to.
Manage structure of the weekly menu.
Upkeep cleanliness of work areas and associated equipment to a high standard.
Order stock to demand daily for canteen and vending facilities.
Acting, where necessary, to keep staffing levels and timings of food preparation and serving optimal.
Checking quality and standards of preparation, cooking, and service daily.
Ensuring stock ordering, purchasing and use is efficient to reduce waste.
Communicate effectively with all staff and management throughout the business.
Raise, complete, and manage appropriate documentation to satisfy all requirements, authorities, and audits.
Assist in where required for seasonal time and need adjustments.
Any other duties, as agreed with manager.
Responsibilities
HS&E for areas of operation.
Ensure stock levels are managed correctly and efficiently.
Adhere to timings and requirements.
Upkeep and maintain staffing levels, managing cover for holidays and sickness etc.
Ensure food preparation and service is always high quality.
Make sure supply and stock procedures adhered to.
Meet agreed targets of hygiene and finance control.
Monitoring stock usage in canteen and vending facilities and adjust stock purchasing to meet demands.
Autorities
To act on Health and Safety measures, as may be necessary. To order stock and control service.
Full financial control of stock and energy usage.
Reporting Lines
The Catering Manger reports directly to the Logistics Manager. In the absence of the Logistics Manager, report to the Manufacturing Director.
The Catering Manager is to consult daily with their team and other key personnel required.
Role Requirements
Experience in stock purchasing and management.
Experience with managing canteen facilities independently.
Finance and stock control capable.
Personable.
Dependable.
Critical thinker.
Works well on own or in a team.
Structured and organised.
Good with communication.
Must hold relevant catering experience and qualifications (Food hygiene Level 2 minimum).
Desirable skills
